About Elpidio Antonio José Römer

RÖMER FAMILY TREE

                Elpidio (Pilo) Antonio José Römer
                        14-06-1925 – 29-04-2012

It all started with Claudia (Peggy) Römer, who got some -Römer- names from a source at KRANSHI (Bevolkingsbureau). With these names she went to Edgar Römer who, with this info contacted
Elpidio  (Pilo) Römer, who accepted the challenge to start with the research. Elpidio (Pilo) then started with his research of their Family Tree.

First he was allowed in the Archiefs of Kranshi Bieuw Waaigat. As the papers were very fragile you had to handle them with great care. He was very thankful for this opportunity granted to him.
Later on these archiefs were transferred to Oud Archief (Scharloo).
There also he would work weekly for many years. Through the people of Oud Archief he once met a Römer (motherside) from Colombia.

Once there was a lecture in Oud Archief from someone of the MORMON CHURCH. (how to look for information about your family tree etc).

In Holland he twice visited the Archiefs of the Hague and Zeeland.
There you had to ask for the papers and he could not always get what he wanted.

In his studio at home he has his ordners containing info of all the -branches of the Römer Family Tree – He was very much engaged in his research and knew his info by heart. He could not finish his work the way he had wanted.

This is his copy which he named –RÖMER IN THE CARIBBEAN– When he stopped with his research he did this with these words:

- NOW I HAND OVER THE BATON TO THE NEXT GENERATION -
  Elpidio A.J. Römer 14 Juni 1924 - 29 April 2012
